Hospital appointments are a nightmare for us.
Getting Reilly there is hard not because of the hospital or the staff who are consistently kind and patient but because of the judgey horrors lurking in the waiting rooms. The stares, the assumptions, the judgement can make an already overwhelming situation feel unbearable. His last visit was really hard on us and I ended up in tears.

That’s why I want to say the biggest thank you to Reilly’s CLDT and The Freeman Hospital. We discussed why it was hard and what we could do try and make it better as these tests on his heart are essential with the medication he takes. The visuals are to help him prepare, they rearranged his appointment to a quieter time and even gave us the echocardiogram gel so he can get used to it in his own space.

These aren’t extras this is what great support looks like. Praying it helps Reilly feel calmer walking into his next appointment.

Here’s hoping Friday goes well xx
