Holidays are going really well, not without some difficulties though. Our hotel door doesn’t lock from the inside and I have tried EVERYTHING to stop Reilly escaping. On Wednesday night he woke at 4am, totally starkers he put on his arm bands and made for the door. He wanted to go to the beach which is right outside and I could see Kevin and Perry types starting to congregate so I thought it wise to give it a miss. Shane ended up sleeping on the floor in front of the door. I was on balcony watch, there is a lock but he could break a safe with his eyes shut. He has zero fear and would cock his leg over given the chance. If someone could design a portable lock that actually works I’d be forever grateful. He doesn’t get that when it’s dark we aren’t going in the sea and this can cause some major upsets.
This card is the best thing I brought on holiday. I’m blown away by the kindness of the locals once I show them this card especially if Reilly is mid meltdown from the life guards (he tries to climb their tower like a tiny hasselhof) to the ice cream man (he tries to help himself) The British holiday makers love him now they know the crack and always coo when my lads make an appearance at night looking super smart and handsome.
He’s a funny one that’s for sure, tonight after the restaurant was closed Reilly took Shane to the shop, I was expecting a toy train or a kinder egg to come back. Instead he came back with …
The restaurant manager let Shane in and stuck the toaster on for him, we are also allowed to take food to the pool area where food is FORBIDDEN as is bombing and reserving sun loungers. Reilly even eats ice cream in his dinghy like the Lord of San Antonio.
He hates some of my sun dresses with patterns on and cries and throws them over the balcony, the lady in 112 below us grabs them with a long pincher arm and gathers them up for us. We’ve also discovered he doesn’t like his linen shirt. Doesn’t like is quite tame, he despises it and screamed til it was removed.
So we’ve learned a few new things about Reilly so far this holiday. He’s handling it way better than I ever imagined. I’m so pleased we bit the bullet and came.
I will however need a holiday to recover from this one. Any offers?
Gorgeous gerbil xxx love your blog, I’m sure it will become a book! Keep at it, it helps me a lot with my 4 year old Grandson, also named Rilee. X
